* Alright, a very aggressive first week of training. My AM Core work consists of a series of light lunges and then I get into a back and hip core routine. The core routine is working great, as I can feel myself running with the best posture ever in my career, but it is amazing how just 20 lunges (4 sets of 5) have absolutely killed my legs. The amount of muscle I am gaining is crazy, but my quads are tight on every single run.

* Ugh.. attending the Region III XC meet to watch Gustavo compete (65th in 17:34), so I finally got out for my run and from the start it was rough. Finally got going after some stretching, but still battling the tight quads, and then at 30-min my left quad seized up completely. I got it going again but feared injury, but it seemed controlled. Kept at it, got back to the car in 61-Min, and said screw it, am going to finish the 90-Min so I am not tempted to run on Sunday and really take a rest day. Have spent the past 24 hours icing quad. It is improving, but strained.
