5 mile fartlek at Lake Williams with 6 x 4:00 easy, 2:00 hard with 585ft in 37:30
* A little nervous after yesterday's 4-hour sprint/hill session. My calves were quite beat up, as was my left groin, hammy. However, I held it together and gave a good effort in the rain. Wanted a faster overall time, but am tired. Get through.

8 mile attempted progression at the Lakes with 1,064ft of elevation in 1:04:48
* Miserable. I am beat up. Had nothing. Total pain and fatigue. Glad I worked through it, as I think the last 20 minutes were the best. Found a new climb that was pretty challenging, Need to work on my post-tibs and R quad. L hammy.

4 mile windy recovery around Ft. McHenry in 30:53
* Perhaps the worst run of my life. It's like everything hit me at once. I barely could run. Allergies hit me, so my back was destroyed, felt feverish, the wind was so strong, I was running sideways. Got going a little bit at the end, but horrible.

8 mile fartlek of 20 x 1:20 easy, :40 fast around the Lakes with 921ft of gain in 53:08
* Following the worst run in my life, this was probably one of the best at this stage of fitness. Felt strong and in control the entire workout. Energy was solid, acceleration solid, climbing solid. What a difference. Adaptation is key.

3 miles easy down the Greenway with 135ft of elevation gain in 22:56
* Much needed. One thing I love about the Oregon System is the hard-easy concept. I feel these recovery runs are just as important as my hard days. They keep me healthy. Still some uneasy sensations in calves, but hopefully flush out.

8 mile variation at the Lakes with 2 mi easy, 2 mi hard with 905ft of gain in 1:01:04
* Epic bonk! Didn't sleep much last night, food didn't settle well, and maybe that resulted in my experience today. I had a solid opening 2 miles hard, then headed home, and soon got into trouble. With 1-mile to go absolutely trashed. Wow.

13 mile long run around Lake Redman with 1,544ft of elevation gain in 1:47:07
* Started out tentatively, deciding I was going to hit my long run no matter what. Didn't have great energy or power, but found some really good running in there. Beautifully challenging trails. Right arch is an issue. Will figure it out.
Total
49 Miles with 5,144ft of Elevation Gain
