* Well, I am on my big Mexico trip working with our distributor here as we launch our soccer kits with both Deportivo Toluca F.C. and Estudiantes Tecos, which involves a lot of meetings and promotions, as we had final line finalization on the 2011-2012 kits. Lots of long hours, lots of hard work, which means not much meaningful training, especially since my hotel in Huixquilucan does not have any running areas and I am relegated to a treadmill, which given the time I have to train, is about 30-40 min max. The "race" was amazing. I fancy myself a decent altitude runner, as I have raced 9:06 (3000m) at 5500ft time trial in 2001 as part of the USOC's "Live High, Train Low" project. Anyhow, I was not able to train much and amazingly I went against my instinct and went out harder than I wanted (6:24 at 2km, 3:12/km, 32:00 pace).. and absolutely crashed with my left leg/quad flailing the whole way. I stopped twice to stretch, but was not satisfied with the output. The effort tranlsates to a 33-min 10K, but feel I could have run sub-35:00 on this course. Hopefully now I can get back to training hard and do some reassesments in intensity.
