* Alright, so my first All-Comers meet of the year went well. I had a competitive 1500m with David Kawa, and just basically chased him to the line, running 2:12 through 800m and 3:16 through 1200m, finishing in :48 for my final 300m... The 3000m was tough as there was too much time between the 1500m and the 3000m (45 minutes?). I started out slowly (74's) and built-up my speed and strength, passing 1600m in 4:51 and closing the last 3.5 laps at 72 sec pace (4:49), so a bit of a negative split. Only got hard the final 500m, as the fatigue got me, but was able to catch the leader at the Mile and then pull away for a 6 sec victory.

* Great victory today at the Georgia Invitational 3000m. The weather was surprisingly pathetic, temperature in the 80's and some really gusty winds, plus the race was run at 12:15 PM, so that did not help matters. Also, there was a really small field: 7 runners, but only 4 started. From the gun, I lead every step. Everyone tucked in behind me to ride the wind, so I passed 400m in 70-71", aiming for 68-69"s the whole way. I think I passed 800m in 2:22-2:24, then did not get a 1200m split. By the Mile, I had gapped the drafters and started pushing, hitting 1600m in 4:38 and then pressed on to the victory, never really in trouble, although tired, but strong, closing to win in 8:43.98. A solid time for the conditions, and I'll take it. Still #1 in the nation on mastersrankings.com, so that feels great. Need to keep training hard.
